Just a quickie post this week as I’m lazy.
For this week’s skirts theme I’m featuring this colourful floral high-waisted number that I picked up for six bucks at Riverwood Vinnies on a recent excursion there with my cousin. She always tells me off for posting the names of all the best op-shops on the blogs: but I hardly think downtown Riverwood is about to be mobbed by vicious bargain-hunting bitches out to pillage my local Vinnies as a result of the blog.
There’s really not a lot going on in downtown Riverwood. Time stopped there somewhere around 1965 and has never moved forward since. I think that’s part of the appeal though. Hipster suburbs are useless for op-shopping. You've got to get out into true suburbia to score the best op-shop finds.
Anyway, the print of this skirt reminds me of a pair of overalls I had as a kid in the early 90s: and we know that era’s all back in again.
I'm wearing it here with:
- Sheer mint green sleeveless shirt from Domino Dollhouse
- Piano-key necklace from Dangerfield though it must be acknowledged that this is a total rip-off of a design by Tatty Devine and I am very naughty for supporting the mass-produced version rather than the handmade-in-England original design …but at $10, this bargain was hard to resist.
- Retro-style sunnies from ASOS
- Skull-studded flat shoes from Payless shoes. These have been my go-to comfy black flats this season (they totally make your feet stink though: that’s the price you pay for comfort – ie. cheap synthetics).
